There is clearly no stopping Bonang. The 25-year-old can now add Miss SA judge to her already impressive and bulging resume.

She will take up her judging duties alongside DESTINY MAN editor Kojo Baffoe, former Miss SA Amy Kleinhans-Kurd, Glamour editor Pnina Fenster and radio presenter Anele Mdoda.

A businesswoman, Bonang was named Revlon South Africa’s brand ambassador last year. She’s also a Top Billing and Mzansi Magic Clash of the Choirs presenter and fronts a lingerie campaign for Woolworths. Listed as one of Forbes top 13 African celebrities to watch, Bonang has recently left her radio show on YFM to focus on her other projects.

Herself a model, Bonang described what qualities she will be looking for in the new Miss SA in a statement.

“She will become an ambassador for our country and she needs to embody a number of qualities. Ambition, beauty, personality and substance are definite must haves. Ultimately the new Miss SA will need to develop a connection with South African women who come from different backgrounds, and as such, her versatility will be put to the test.”

The former DESTINY cover star added that since she grew up watching the pageant, she knew that it was a great influence, as winners like Basetsana Kumalo had gone to to become well-respected powerhouse brands.

“Miss SA empowers young women and acts as an elevator for those wishing to follow their dreams and make a difference in our country. Being a judge allows me to make a contribution in helping someone realise their dreams, which is enough to make anyone content.”

Twelve Miss SA finalists were selected in February and they will compete for the crown at the Sun City Superbowl on 30 March. This article is by BERNICE MAUNE for destinyconnect.com
